Privacy policy

Updated July 10, 2026

Key is built so that we don't collect your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no Key servers — the app makes no connection to us at all. This policy explains what data exists, where it lives, and the commitments we make. It covers the Key iOS app, published by Titun LLC ("Titun", "we").

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect, receive, store, sell, or share any personal data. Everything the app knows stays on your device.

What stays on your device

  • Your blocklist. You choose apps with Apple's picker, and Apple hands Key opaque tokens instead of app names — Key itself cannot see which apps you picked, and neither can we.
  • Websites you block, exactly as you typed them.
  • Your settings: modes, schedules, Hard lock, auto-relock, and the remaining force unlocks.
  • Your activity history: lock and unlock events, when they happened, and what triggered them.

All of it lives in the app's private storage on your device. It is shared only with Key's own extensions — the shield screen, the Live Activity, the schedule monitor — through Apple's app-group container, never with us or anyone else. Like any app data, it is included in your device backups, and it is deleted when you delete the app.

Screen Time data

Key uses Apple's Screen Time technology with individual authorization — you managing your own device. Screen Time information never leaves your device. We commit, as Apple's rules for this technology require, to never sell, use, or disclose to third parties any data from Key, for any purpose.

The physical Key

A Key tag stores only a serial number and a signature proving it's genuine. Scanning happens locally over NFC; nothing about a scan leaves your phone. Keys hold no personal data and cannot track you or your location.

What we never do

No accounts. No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. No advertising and no trackers. No cookies. No selling of data — we hold nothing to sell.

Purchases

Key has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. If you buy a physical Key from a store such as trykey.co, the seller's own privacy policy applies to your order — the app knows nothing about it.

Children

Key is made for people managing their own devices and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — children included.

Your rights

Laws like the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights over personal data a company holds about you. Titun holds none: there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete. Your data lives on your device — to erase it, delete the app.

One honest exception: if you email us, we will have your email address and what you wrote. We use them only to reply, keep them only as long as needed, and share them with no one. You can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version ships with the app and the "Updated" date changes. If Key ever starts collecting anything — we have no plans to — we will say so clearly inside the app before it happens.
